Local Scholarship Application Instructions

1. LBHSSF Local Scholarship Application:

Complete and submit on-line the attached application (see below). If you do not have information for a particular section (i.e. work experience, athletics, etc.) mark that section with N/A (not applicable) so it is obvious that section was not missed. You do not need to complete the application at one sitting; you may save your work and re-enter the application at any time.
Use your Legal Name.
The on-line application should be submitted prior to February 10, 2012.
You have the option to also submit a letter of recommendation by March 2, 2012 to the Scholarship Coordinator.

2. Signature/Photo Page:

Print Signature/Photo Page (see below) you and your parents are required to read and sign the Signature/Photo Page.
Submit this page to the Scholarship Coordinator, along with your picture (head shot), before but no later than February 10, 2012.

3. Go For It:

Review the Go For It booklet (see below); to determine for which scholarships you plan to apply.

4. Scholarship Check List:

Print out the Scholarship Check List (see below) and use as a worksheet for selecting scholarships.
The Check List will indicate if a scholarship is: 1) Financial Need Required, 2) Financial Need may be considered, or 3) No Financial Need Required (see instructions on Check List).

5. Instructions for Individual Scholarships:

After completing the Scholarship Check List, go to the Scholarship Instructions (see below) and review the requirements for each scholarship.
Print individual scholarship requirement page for every scholarship for which you plan to apply. Attach requirement page to required materials for each scholarship.
If the Scholarship states “Financial Need Required”, Section 12 of the LBHS Local Application must be completed as well as FASFA, and you are required to submit a copy of your Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) to the Scholarship Coordinator with your LBHSSF Scholarship Application no later than March 2, 2012.
Be sure to put your name and the Scholarship name on each item.
As you complete your applications, be thorough, accurate, neat, and aware of the March 2, 2012 deadline. There are no exceptions.
You are responsible for ensuring that all supporting documents are submitted. Scholarship America and LBHSSF reserve the right to process only applications found to be complete as of the application deadline, March 2, 2012.
